What will I have to pay?
If you accept a training place with us then you will be expected to pay tuition fees of £8,500. If you are recruited to a salaried place then the school which employs you will pay us your fees and you can expect to receive an unqualified teacher’s salary. You will be expected to fund all your travel costs.
Financial help
To cover the cost of studying, trainees can apply for:
- a Tuition Fee Loan - to cover the tuition fees in full
- a Maintenance Loan - for living costs like rent
- a Maintenance Grant - if your household income is less than £42,600
Further information about the above can be found by logging on to www.gov.uk/student-finance/overview. Extra help is also available if you have a disability or children or adults dependent on you. Details can be found at the Directgov website. Some of our member schools offer training bursaries to suitable candidates following their successful recruitment to the course.
Payment of tuition fees
You can either pay us directly or through the Student Loans Company.
Please note that the recommendation for Qualified Teacher Status and achievement of the Post Graduate Certificate in Education award will be withheld from any trainee who fails to honour all monetary debts. The trainee is liable for the relevant course fees whether or not the course is completed.
Note
Trainees are required to pay for their own Criminal Records Bureau checks. For more information please visit The Home Office CRB page.
