Our trainees spend 60 per cent of the year in schools and are fully involved in the life of the school as a member of the teaching team. The remainder of time is spent in lectures and workshops taught by expert practitioners.

At the start of the course, all trainees are allocated a personal tutor who visits them each term to provide professional and pastoral support and guidance, and liaises with schools about their progress. For those with leadership aspirations we offer an accelerated leadership programme, and our course also provides the opportunity to obtain a specialist primary qualification with training given by leading experts. Specialist primary qualifications include: Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) with some trainees given the opportunity to spend a term in one of our special schools; Mathematics; English; Science; Information and Communications Technology (ICT); Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS); Drama; Physical Education (PE) and Modern Foreign Languages (MFL).

On completion students receive a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). For a list of QTS standards, click here (link).

Five years after completing our course, a staggering 97 per cent of our graduates are still teaching.

• We provide the only individually tailored voice training course in the UK.

• Our programme is designed and led by school-based professionals working alongside a highly qualified academic team. • A large proportion of time is spent in schools learning alongside experienced teachers.

• Trainees have the opportunity to train in specialist areas during the year, spending time in specialist related settings and working alongside current co-ordinators.

• High quality mentoring and pastoral support are provided in all areas.

• We have high levels of course integration between centrally taught and school-based elements of the course.

• All trainees are given the opportunity to complete a Modern Foreign Language (MFL) module.

• Trainees are offered experiences in a range of social and economic settings.
